Overview

CancelReminder helps you track free trials, warranties, licenses, domains, memberships, and other recurring charges so you don't get billed unexpectedly. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can delete it.

Information we collect

  • Google account info — When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and a unique identifier. We use this solely to create and manage your account.
  • Gmail metadata — If you connect a Gmail inbox, we access the subject lines and sender addresses of emails in your Primary inbox. We do not read, store, or process email message bodies, attachments, or any other content.
  • Trial and subscription data — Service names, dates, and costs that you enter manually or that are auto-detected from Gmail metadata.
  • Push notification tokens — If you enable browser notifications, we store a token to deliver alerts to your device.

Gmail API — limited use disclosure

CancelReminder's use of data received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically: Gmail data (subject lines and sender addresses) is used only to detect free trial confirmation emails and populate your dashboard. We do not use it for advertising, do not share it with third parties, and do not allow humans to read your email metadata except to provide the service or as required by law.

How we use your data

  • To detect free trial emails and add them to your dashboard
  • To send push notification alerts before trials convert to paid plans
  • To display your trial history and subscription tracking

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties beyond what is necessary to operate the service.

Data storage

Your data is stored in Supabase, a managed database platform hosted on AWS infrastructure. OAuth tokens used to access Gmail are stored encrypted and are used only when you trigger a scan.

Data deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Doing so permanently removes all your trials, subscriptions, connected accounts, and OAuth tokens from our systems. We also revoke Gmail access with Google at the time of deletion.
